For the Ivory series, I use selected stoneware with a high quartz content. It combines the heat resistance of clay with an almost porcelain appearance. The color, taste and aroma of tea from this ivory series is perfect and pure. It is also suitable for profesional tasting a tea. According to my measurements, this material does not absorb as much heat as porcelain. Water remains at a higher temperature and also cools more slowly than porcelain. The ceramic is electrically fired at a temperature of 1250 °C. The surface is treated with a transparent feldspar-based glaze.

Where was it born?
I felt, that I need for liberation. I felt the need for liberation from the "general aesthetic line" that runs across the tea community. It was only one of the impulses. I started with tea when I was really young. Tea was my revolution: against consumerism, against alcohol, an expression of aesthetics and an expression of love for the original, untainted world (I know now that such a world did not exist.) Painted teaware is for me a kind of return to this beginning of mine... A fleeting touch only, because at the same time, when I drink tea from this stoneware, I also feel a strong connection with the beautiful tea culture and community: from Taiwan to Japan, from street tea in India to street tea in Turkey.
The second, equally strong impulse was the desire to paint... From the ceramic circle to the brush. To compare what it does to me inside. If it can anchor me in the present, what emotions it will bring me. The desire to know what is inside me. Creating with clay grounded me, but somewhere inside me something was screaming and it was not coming out through ceramic creation. My base is be wild and unfettered.
And so I started creating something between freedom, spontaneity, energy and balance, harmony.
