Travel bag for your teaware:

- Indulge in that luxury of to drink your favorite tea on your travels.
- Made from a unique fabric: natural indigo, hand-woven fabric.

Material:

cotton, linen, coconut button 

PADDING

- The sides are padded with FOUR LAYERS of very thick cotton fabric.
- The bottom is even FIVE LAYERS.

Of course, there is an external decorative indigo fabric and an internal Czech linen. This padding ensures that no sharp edges of the ceramics are felt from the outside.

We decided to add a free GIFT of a two-layer fabric (double gauze) measuring 850 x 240 mm, which is suitable for wrapping ceramics together and can also serve very well as a chabu(tea runner).

How much fits in a backpack?

You can comfortably put inside:

- a bowl and into it a shiboridashi or gaiwan
- a travel chawan
- two larger tea bowls

STORY OF THE INDIGO FABRIC

Bag  from our collection of textiles hand woven and indigo dye from West Africa.
Textiles are not new but semi-antiq. I brought it from my Morocco trip.

Natural indigo continues to be used, for example by Dogon women in Mali and Mossi and Dioula in Burkina Faso.

The fabric are older, original, have a soul and it was necessary to restore them very much. It was very nicely restored by @missue_raw_soul and it took a lot of work and she was very careful. Everything is fixed by hand.

MY STORY:

Many of you know me here as the creator of ceramics and the creator of photos of tea scenes in my tea room. I LOVE MY TEA ROOM and that is why I decided to expand my tea room to the world, to GIVE ITS ATMOSPHERE TO YOU. This time it are beautiful fabrics suitable for a tea ceremony.

Do you have a favourite teaware and would you like to travel with it?

Me too, as I have a lot of experience with it, as I take teaware  everywhere. From a day trip, to Morocco, from a long hiking pilgrims way to Compostela, to mountain hikes. I won't lie and write that when I go seriously into the mountains, when I have to take off my backpack in difficult terrain and handle it sometimes really "improperly", I put the whole thing in a plastic, yes you read that right, plastic box. But for long hikes through the usual mountains, for day trips into forests, mountains, meadows and cities. Simply being a backpacker, I actually get along very well with this. :-)

WASHING:

Wash as little as possible, always by hand with natural washing powder. Water temperature up to 30 degrees. Wringing, if necessary: just wrinkle like a sponge for washing.
